Satisfy with all our Senses
Cooking is my art. The kitchen is my studio. I create meals and ritual as nourishing, pleasurable medicine, to support one's connection with their body. I make food to enhance the senses, to communicate with the body in new ways.
How often do you have someone preparing a meal that is made just for you? How often do those homemade, carefully crafted or tended to meals, prepared on your own or with a loved one, or for a special occasion, leave a lasting memory or positive feeling in the body? Or leave you feeling more grounded, satiated, without digestive discomfort? Sharing a meal is about more than satisfying hunger and taste buds. I create pleasurable and nourishing sensory experiences, refilling physical bellies as well as emotional and spiritual cups. I chose to work with local, seasonal, organic, ingredients in addition to foraged fare from the local forests, oceans and trails of Northern California. Higher quality ingredients can be more expensive, though I know my work is contributing to the wellbeing of my local farms and purveyors, just as they support me and my clients. Partnering with small businesses, I get to know exactly where my food is coming from, increasing transparency and community health. While I have received formal and informal trainings within and outside of institutions, my most influential learning has come directly from life experience, and practicing how to be in relationship-- with myself, with my human family, and the earth. On the formal front, I have certifications as a Natural Chef, Herbalist, Early Childhood Educator and Kundalini Yoga Teacher. Informally, I've studied or trained in Plant Spirit Medicine, Botanical Dying, Biodynamic Gardening, Ayurvedic Medicine, Voice Coaching, Somatic Attachment Therapy, Inner Child Healing Work, Contact Improv, Qi Gong, various styles of dance, and Kink, Consent and Power Play Dynamics. How I contribute and share is deeply informed by my embodiment practice, slowing down and turning towards my body's innate wisdom. |
I acknowledge I live on the unceded ancestral land of the Ohlones, Pomo and Costal Miwoks in present day Marin and Sonoma Counties
